Doctor says chicken pox but I’m skeptical

My 3 year old has somewhat of a rash on his belly and legs looks more or less like spots that were scratched at and have a little scab and he also has had a rash on his private areas for about a week now. The rash looks like little red dots all over. The day before yesterday his hand had some smaller white dots on it and we took him the the pediatrician and they said chicken pox. I’m not sure they were right. His had has gotten worse and his fingers are a little swollen. He also has bad eczema so I thought maybe the his legs and belly were eczema and he had a yeast infection before we took him to the doctor. Any suggestions? I am attaching a picture of his hand.

Poor mite. Looks very uncomfortable. Did it blister at all? It does look like chicken pox but equally hard to say from a photo. If it's crusting and spreading rapidly get it rechecked for impetigo- which could be secondary to chicken pox.

I've just commented on the other thread where you posted. I'm inclined to say this may be impetigo. I'm not medical profession but to me, this doesn't look like pox or HFM. Get a 2nd opinion x

Hand, foot & mouth is doing the rounds.

Also, my son has just had a skin infection which looked similar & he needed antibiotics for. Was originally told that it was a virus & a viral rash.

i would go back to drs for a second opinion.

Hope he feels better soon x

Whatever it is, those spots are infected. He needs antibiotics
