My 4 year old son had chickenpox on 26th Oct the 1st time. It started with a bad cough and next day had spots come up on chest and in a day all over. It took around 7 days to scab. Then on Monday 21st Nov had his polio booster and flu nasal vacc all good. But on Tuesday after school he started shivering, huge vomit and got temp 40C. Gave calpol and then ibuprofen (gap of 4 hrs)Took him to GP the next day had high temp on and off the entire day. Dr said it could be flu or a reaction to vacc. Today i noticed fuild filled blisters on arms and armpits they look just like chickenpox but my worry is he just got them last month. Can it reoccur so fast.

I’d be surprised but it is possible to get it twice.

I’ve not known it start with a cough though?

We have HFM at school at the moment - not sure if that can appear on arms etc.

Thanks Tulipvase, but its not on his palms or soles just arms and armpits. Just so worried as why has it come again.

That’s an unusual spread for chicken pox - I think it’s normally trunk and groin first etc.

Whatever it is, hope they feel better soon.
