Child with daily tummy pain

My 4 year old had the flu about 2 and a half weeks ago and has had tummy pain every day since. Comes and goes and I think a mild bc he is still very active. Has blood work which was normal but stool tested for blood. Now being referred to a pediatric GI dr but that is 3 weeks away! He was on mirilax daily, I stopped that to see if it was causing cramps but not much change. He is pretty gassy. Could a lactose intolerance cause the bloody stool? Anyone experienced anything like this? I am very worried and could use some help!

My three year old is exactly the same. We aren't getting anywhere with the gp and struggling to find a private gastroenterologist who will see a child. At the end of my tether with it.

I am so sorry! It is truly awful! Did your child have a fecal blood test as well? It's really concerning me that my sons tested positive for blood but I have to wait weeks to see a specialist.

He hasn't had that done no. He was initially sent to a and e by gp as they suspected appendicitis, they took bloods and urine tests and did ultrasound. Diagnosed with mesenteric adenitis even though no evidence of enlarged lymph nodes. That was three months ago. He has been back and forward to doctors but only prescribed laxatives when he often has diarrhoea which is when we started to look privately. He sounds like your little guy in that he is bright enough but just not right. His stomach is often bloated, he has little appetite and wakes often in the night. Gonna get back in touch with gp tomorrow.
