Mass on brain 4 month old baby

I don't even know where to start but I took my daughter (4 months) to the GP as she's done this flickering eye roll ever since she was born and they thought it was linked to reflux as did we but they referred us to a paediatrician just to be sure. They did an mri and eeg which showed seizures but found out yesterday that she has a 2cm mass on her brain. I am absolutely devastated and don't know where to go from here. They haven't given an indication as to what they think it is and we are just waiting to hear from them. All I'm thinking is the worst and I can't stop crying. I've been thinking about how I'm going to kill my self when my daughter dies. I feel hopeless and that I don't have the strength to do this. She is my only child and I tried for over 3 years to have her with miscarriages in between. They thought she was missing her cavum during pregnancy so that was traumatic too. I don't know what to do, I can't believe this is happening to us.

@Soontobe60 I do have a massive amount of support and my in-laws even offered to pay for her to be seen privately. But I'm not comforted by anything or anyone to be honest. I just want this to be a terrible nightmare that I'll wake up from

Ok op, it sounds like your feelings, not unreasonable, are overwhelming you. Please talk to your GP, or call 111. You are needing some help and possible some short term meds, to help you manage your anxiety . You have had some intrusive thoughts about self harm - this is a major warning sign that you are not coping with processing the situation on your own. This is completely ok, and probably not that unusual. But you need to get help now for yourself.

Good luck for your beautiful daughter. The nurses are going to want to snuggle and chat to her. She's adorable. I'm sorry you are going through this very difficult time x

What a gorgeous wee girl. Sending lots of love and strength to you and your daughter. Hope everything goes well with the MRI. I worked in neurosurgery as a nurse for many years and many masses turn out to be benign. I’m sorry this is happening to you but I hope this will be the case for your little girl x

Sitdownnigel · 21/11/2022 11:20

What a beautiful happy looking baby.

God love you, how dreadfully stressful.

Will add her to my prayers.
🤞

OP I know it's easy to say but try not to worry at this point. I know a woman who went through the same. Her baby boy was fitting and they found a growth in his brain. It still there and he still has fits, but he's now in his 30s and a parent himself.

Viviennemary · 21/11/2022 11:35

You absolutely should go private. Dont wait any longer.

Thank you so much everyone. We are just on our way to the hospital now. I am so terrified. As you can see my girl thinks we are going on a fun day out.

Oh bless her heart, a smile to light up any room.

good luck today 💕

Schnooze · 21/11/2022 11:36

I had a friend when I was very young, who had a brain tumour removed. She’s still around as far as I know, and we are now in our mid fifties. Medicine has moved on too, since then.

Fingers crossed for you.

BigScreen · 21/11/2022 11:36

Best of luck today OP.

WhiteRidgeDoor · 21/11/2022 11:38

Good luck. You won’t need the Ronald McDonald house as they expect and have rooms set up that one parent is with the child 24/7 so you won’t have to leave her.

QueenAstrid · 21/11/2022 11:43

What a beautiful little girl and what an amazing loving mum you are 💗 That’s so clear to see. I’m keeping everything crossed for you all today. We may not know you and this place may be a chaos of arguments and quarrels at times, but some of the most kind hearted and genuine people I’ve ever met have been right here on Mumsnet. We’ve got you OP x x
