Is this really ringworm?

Hi all. My DD is almost 21 months. Started off with a little dry patch of skin a few weeks ago, didn't think too much of it as a long term sufferer of eczema myself and so took us to the pharmacy, spoke to a pharmacist who advised Epiderm, used that for 2 weeks and no improvement really (the over the counter stuff never worked for me either, fwiw).

Went to the GP today about an ongoing chesty cough for DD and mentioned her skin, he took one quick look and said ringworm. Prescribed us Daktacort cream 1% Hydrocortisone.

Does this look like ring worm? Has anyone successfully treated ring worm with this cream? I've had a look online and apparently not even close to the best thing for it and shouldn't be used in under 10s! Here are some pictures of the patches of skin on DD, she does have other patches but not red/ inflamed.

My son (11) has developed this rash on his neck.
I believe it to be ringworm and have been using clotrimazole 1% cream for 2 weeks now with no changes (if anything it’s beginning to look worse).
Does anyone have any advice on what I can do next to clear it? Or if it does look like ringworm? He suffers badly with eczema.
Thank you in advance!

Sorry I’ve jumped on your thread. I hope everything has gone well for you. I am new here and thought I’d started my own thread, I am clueless as to how to delete this and start my own. Sorry again!

@Alixmx Please don't worry! I hope you've figured out how to start your own Smile Looks similar to how my DD's started, good luck x

Aw that’s so lovely - I did though, thank you - although it took me 3 hours! 🙈
I think those pictures look like eczema!
I hope your little one gets better quickly!
prior to my recent pictures I have sent the photos in to the doctors and my son has been prescribed timodine (steroid and fungal cream) this seems to have cleared up the rashes so well 🤞🏽 So I’m not sure if this is something that might help?
my fingers are crossed for your little one on a quick recovery, eczema can be so uncomfortable 😔 x

My daughter had what I thought was ringworm (she'd had ringworm once before as a baby when travelling). We treated with cannestan then a different anti fungal OTC cream for a couple of weeks before going to the GP who diagnosed pityaris rosea. There was unfortunately no treatment. My daughter was unwell over this period and had recently had repeated covid infections over the previous six months.

Hi, I know it’s been a while but my 3 year old has the exact same rash. It looks identical. Did it turn out to be ringworm or excema? How did you get on top of it. Hoping it’s all sorted for your wee one❤️

@Hayley3211 Sorry I've only just saw your message Smile It didn't clear for a while, we had a referral to dermatology who had it under control within a couple of weeks. Very strong steroid creams and eventually we were prescribed protopic tacrolimus cream which worked absolute wonders. She still flares up a little on the arm creases and behind knees when it's hot but it's definitely mild and manageable! Hope you manage to get sorted Smile
