How much has your child been ill this autumn?

Just that really. It's DD's (age 3.5) 3rd winter in a childcare setting, I was hoping for some immunity to kick in this year but no such luck. Already she's fought off mild croup, a viral cough, & 2 colds. She's had 3 days of being seemingly 'normal' & without any sort of plague then today I notice she's got watery eyes & back to sounding very bunged up again so that usually means a cold is on its way. I feel so sorry for her, the minute she gets over one thing something else rears it's head. Is this normal? Anyone else?

I'm finding it's more "normal" than ever since covid 🤣 it's a palava.
My 3 boys have had 2 colds or so each this autumn so far plus a tummy bug.
But I do know there has been a massive spread of HF&M going around and not long before that there was a huge outbreak of chicken pox across all 3 schools. More so the preschool and infant school. There is so much around, it's hard to keep up with it all!
I feel like my youngest 2.5 always has a runny nose at the moment!!

Lots of teachers are frequently sick over autumn/winter, so I'm not sure about the immunity thing. It's more that nurseries/schools are quite crowded, with poor air quality and some send kids in ill. Obviously, v young kids have pretty poor hygiene too. Hope your little one has a smoother time of it soon.

Since going back to school in September (Yr 1), DD (6) has had a high temp/cough/cold virus that put her out of action for just over a week, another similar virus that then turned into an ear infection, then similar again that ended up being a chest infection. Her school attendance is sitting at around 60% so far this school year 😬
