Has anyones toddler NOT been poorly after flu vacs?

My 2.5yr old is booked in to have his flu vacc this week (spray) and I keep reading/ hearing about how poorly everyone’s children are afterwards.

Is this a given or has anyone any experience of a child who’s been absolutely fine afterwards?

Yep totally fine both times, no issues at all.

ashapushapush · 31/10/2022 13:21

People like me whose children have been fine after it don’t tend to post on Facebook/Mumsnet about it. And we are the vast majority.

ShowOfHands · 31/10/2022 13:21

Neither of my children have ever reacted.

Merrow · 31/10/2022 13:21

Absolutely fine here, and fine last year. Delighted by the sticker and the fact the nurse had shoes the same colour as his.

MonkeyPuddle · 31/10/2022 13:22

Entirely fine.

RenegadeMrs · 31/10/2022 13:22

Yes, no issues here.

Brieeeeeeeee · 31/10/2022 13:23

Totally fine, a bit snotty but that was from having something in his nose!

NameChangedOverOut · 31/10/2022 13:41

My twins were both fine after theirs 🙂

Both of mine are in primary school so have had the spray for years, they’ve never been unwell afterwards.

Utini · 31/10/2022 13:43

Mine has had it four times without being ill

BonesOfWhatYouBelieve · 31/10/2022 13:50

Completely fine both years she's had it.

Catrina1999 · 31/10/2022 14:11

Mine had his the other day , no issues at all :)

Justme10 · 31/10/2022 14:13

Completely fine here as well

stuffnthings · 31/10/2022 14:15

Another saying absolutely fine.

Hugasauras · 31/10/2022 14:15

My older DD has had no reactions to any of her vaccinations ever, including flu. None of the kids in our parents WhatsApp group had any reaction to the flu one either.

BendingSpoons · 31/10/2022 14:16

My kids have always been fine. For a large number of people who are ill afterwards it is just a coincidence, as there are many viruses at this time of year.

Wnikat · 31/10/2022 14:16

None of my kids have ever had a bad reaction to the flu vaccine.

sallysparrow157 · 31/10/2022 14:28

My twins have reacted to all the jabs they have had up til now - temperatures, miserable etc. They had the flu spray a few weeks ago and were absolutely fine, no reaction whatsoever

beonmywaythen · 31/10/2022 14:28

Mine were fine. 2 and 4. Nasal spray

Fiddledeedeeee · 31/10/2022 14:29

This is great to read, thank you all.

I’ll stop worrying quite you much about having to rearrange work for the rest of the week!

Yeah that’s not a thing. The vaccine is live but the viral load is too low to give anyone flu.
