10 month old maybe reacting to beans/legumes?

I have experience of allergies with my first DS, who had a very obvious reaction to egg (111 sent an ambulance as his face puffed up like a balloon). He has been on the egg ladder since and is gradually growing out of it. Seemed like DS2 was going to avoid all of that as eggs, dairy, etc. have been fine.

Yesterday DH made a bean stew thing. Tiny bit of chilli in it but really very, very mild. I lightly mashed some for 10 month old. Part way through eating it he started rubbing his face and eyes and seemed a bit uncomfortable but there was no swelling, rash or crying. Possibly it was the spice but as I say it was the tiniest amount, half a teaspoon, if that, in an enormous pot of the stuff- don’t know why DH bothered with it really. I washed his face and he seemed alright but refused to eat any more.

Last night he did 4 poos in the night! He never normally does any. They were quite mucous-y too. He’s done one more today, also with some mucous.

He’s definitely fine with baked beans as he’s had those numerous times with no problems. This was a mixture of beans (black beans, kidney beans, borlotti beans I think). Could this be a sign of an allergy? Should I take him to the GP? Do I need to try him with each type of bean first? I don’t really want to give him another upset tummy! Or could it just be that bean stew is a bit too much for a 10 month old to digest?
