Toddler went to bed at 7 and woke up at 11 crying that his ear hurt and we've been up all night since. He's had calpol and is exhausted but just won't drift off, he nearly has multiple times then starts crying saying his ear still hurts. I will obviously phone the doctor in the morning but I'm exhausted and haven't been to sleep yet and him being this shattered isn't helping him Sad is there anything I can do?

Aww bless you OP, my DS1 had frequent ear infections, and just as you described, he would go to bed fine and wake in the night screaming with pain. It’s very distressing to see your child like that I know. Get on to GP when they open to get it checked out and antibiotics. I hope you get some sleep.

DM swears by a drop of warm olive oil - not cooking oil in the year if you have it.
I use a warm hot water bottle.

#Not a doctor! But both have brought relief.
