Strawberry birthmark right on hairline

My daughter is 3 months old and has a strawberry birthmark on her hairline. It’s oval shaped, an inch and looks exactly like a little strawberry.

Its not impeding on any function so HV and doctor isn’t bothered, but cosmetically I am concerned as it is creating a wide bald patch right on her hairline. No hair is growing around it apart from a few sparse hairs coming out of the centre.

As her hair is growing, it’s starting to look more noticeable. I know strawberry marks recede by the time they are one, but I’m worried about the impact it is having on her hair growth.

She’s my beautiful DD but I know if my parents had potentially ignored a large bald patch on my hairline when something could have been done- I would have been pissed off.

I doubt NHS will be interested in my cosmetic concerns- but can anything be done?

I had one of these, on my hairline above my temple. I don’t have a bald patch now and didn’t ever in my memory. I think once the redness has faded the hair starts to grow, I don’t think it’s permanent baldness is it?

There is a 1-2cm around the birthmark (a ring) where no hair is growing, so no redness in these parts

Good to hear yours faded and didn’t impact your hair growth- I don’t care about the mark, just worried about any repercussions for her hair growth
