How long to keep toddler away from kids with chicken pox?

My toddler has chicken pox (started sunday) how long do I keep him away from children, nhs website says 5 days (until they've formed a scab) only when I was a child it was 2 weeks im sure?
Also can I put sudocrem on them, he's not itching and there not that many, I was advised this. Thanks.

Until scabbed over which is normally within 5-7 days

Maybe you are thinking of the incubation period which can be 10-21 days but is usually around 2 weeks
