Teen who doesn't seem to sweat

My 15,yo D's, who is 5 foot 10 with a deep gravelly voice told me the other day that he never uses deodorant. He is never smelly and on thinking about it, never remotely sweaty. He cycles 2 miles each way to school and plays a vigorous sport once a week. The no sweating / no smellyness is weird right?

Does he not sweat at all and gets very very hot as a result? I think that's actually a medical condition. This is going to sound ridiculous- my dp never sweated and would get hot and feel ill. He sadly had a massive brain haemorrhage and now he sweats. I appreciate this sounds outrageous. We don't know if it's connected but it's too much of a coincidence. I have no idea if it needs medical attention if someone doesn't sweat.

My FIL doesn't seem to sweat. Went to the beach with him, hottest day of the year. Everyone else in beachwear and he wore a jumper and long trousers. He also doesn't get earwax - apparently it's a gene thing.

Beamur · 29/07/2022 21:54

Dry earwax gene.
I think my DH has it. He's very active but literally never smells.

HotPenguin · 29/07/2022 22:07

I've got the dry ear wax gene. I do sweat but it doesn't smell. If your DS doesn't sweat at all I'd see a GP as he's at risk of overheating.

You sure he isn't sweating? Could he be sweating but just not smell?
I sweat a normal amount, but have never get BO (confirmed by several friends and family), and never worn deodorant. Interested to see this is "a thing"...

If he doesn't sweat at all there's a real risk of him overheating, get him booked in at the GP.

I never used to sweat either. I remember sitting in a sauna purposely to try and make myself sweat. Even after running 10k - no sweat. Rowing? No sweat 🤣 it was driving my friends mad at the time!

i first started sweating when I was about 25! I’m 35 now and i recently experienced my first tummy sweat 🤣

TMI? (I went for a run on a hot day)

I don’t sweat… I do have to be super careful in the heat and exercising as too hot and I get migraine x
