Hi
for the last couple of weeks my daughter goes to bed crying because she says she is ugly 🙁
She is a bit chubby, with a roundish belly and chubby face but she has been like this since birth. She always asks why her friends at school are thinner and more beautiful than her and I try to explain to her that everyone is diferente and she is a beautiful little girl but I feel like she just doesnt hear me. Any suggestions and advice is greatly sporeciated

How old is she? If she is old enough, I’d start gently questioning her idea of what beauty is and why she thinks that it is. Just kind of deflect it back on her so she sees herself through the eyes of others in a genuinely kind way.

But if she’s 3 then just keep doing what you are doing and tell her she is lovely.

Are there any characters in TV shows or celebrities who look similar to her? Representation is important. If she can see herself in people she admire, that could help.
