My two week old girl has developed reflux which makes her really unhappy and now she also have stridor. She doesn’t sleep much as she wakes up either in discomfort or gasping for air. Has anyone had similar situation? Any luck with treatment from GP? Xx

Sorry to be that poster, but have you raised this with a medical professional? If my two week old was gasping for air I'd have called 111 immediately, if not taken her to A&E.

Stridor needs to be seen ASAP, especiallyas it's a new symptom.. I would take her to A&E.

She needs to be seen. It could be croup or something that needs medication.

If she's pulling in at her chest you need to call out of hours or take her to A&E.

Thanks ladies for your concern, I re-read my post and it does sound quite dramatic. I guess in my sleep deprived brain it all sounds different. Sorry, I should’ve clarified.. she generally is breathing ok. She was seen by the HV and midwife on Thursday. HV said that reflux is normal and we have wait and see. Not every breath is with stridor, an occasional squeak here and there. Often at the end of the feed, for example. Furthermore, my son had sleep apnea and woke up gasping for air, GP did nothing until I took my son to private doctor when he was 2.5 years old.
the way my daughter is, I suspect more along the lines of GERD to be honest.
