Scarlet Fever in 6 Yr old daughter

Hi,
Both my 4 year old son and 6 year old daughter have been diagnosed with scarlet fever.
Son on Monday 27th and daughter Tuesday 28th, started on a 10 day course of antibiotics. Son is now almost back to normal but daughter is still getting temperatures over 40 degrees!
Am I right in thinking the temperature should have subsided by now??
She doesn't seem to be getting any better after a full 4 days of antibiotics. She's complaining of headaches, sore throat and her heart rate is 120 just sitting.
Should I be worried?
Thanks for reading x

I would contact 111 for advice. When my son had scarlet fever he was admitted to hospital for iv antibiotics. Hope she's feeling better soon

My experience of scarlet fever was that it got much better within 48hrs of antibiotics. I would call the GP/OOH

I am always shocked people post questions like this on here if you are worried about your child you should be contacting your doctor or going to a and e. It's crazy people don't automatically do it and think instead to post on a website.

Op,Antibiotics should massively improve things by 48 hours. Seek medical advice.

Lalosalamanca, thanks for that but not helpful!
I was already about to contact 111 but I think I just needed some reassurance I was doing the right thing.
I'm awaiting a call back now to see what they want to do.

Thanks everyone else, hopefully I'll hear something soon but as usual, when I ring, they always seem to pick up and makes you feel like you are overreacting!

You would be doing the right thing to seek medical advice.

I was helpful told u antibiotics should of helped by now and to get medical advice. You just don't like that I pointed out how crazy it looks that you turned to an Internet forum not a medical professional. Which would be the common sense thing to do.

My son was misdiagnosed with Scarlet fever but it turned out to be Kawasaki disease. Whenever i read about a temperature lasting longer and SF symptoms it concerns me. Hopefully your dd has been seen or you have had further advice.
