6 month old vomiting and very upset, but only at night?

Hi 😊 I have a 6 month old boy and last night, after a day of being absolutely fine, he woke up crying his eyes out about 10pm and projectile vomited everywhere. About 10 minutes later he vomited again. He went to sleep then but was waking up a lot crying - I gave him bottle overnight and he had a bit more than usual but he didn’t vomit it up at all.

This morning he woke up and was absolutely fine - nothing out of the norm at all, and his poo wasn’t runny or anything. He was happy all day but started getting irritable about 7pm, an hour later he woke up screaming again and vomited. He vomited twice more shorty after that and was very lethargic and upset, but he’s now asleep - I’ve just given him bottle and so far he’s kept it down.

Is this just a tummy bug? It was so odd how he was fine today and suddenly went bad again, and now seems to have stopped vomiting again. He does have a cold that his brothers gave him - and, it might be a coincidence, but when he’s been irritable and vomiting his nose has been running like a tap. Not sure if maybe the mucus is making him sick? But he seems genuinely in a lot of pain when he’s crying 😟

Ring 111. Don't mess about with a young baby.

Have you started weaning? Possible food allergy or FPIES to something eaten in the afternoon or evening the last 2 days?

Thanks both, so he’s woken up fine again today but I’m taking him to his GP today to make sure
