Hey all, just looking for your experiences really, not medical advice at all.

On Friday morning my 6 year old was sick amongst other symptoms. So that day he didn't eat anything else as was feverish etc.

Saturday morning he ate some toast and not a lot of lunch or dinner and andd since then he's not eaten much at all.

We've had a chat and he says his tummy hurts and he's worried about the food making him sick. I can remember when I was about 5 I was sick after eating a twix and haven't eaten one since so I can relate 🙂

So have any others had this and how did you move forward. Today's dinner was plain pasta, one meatball, an apple and half a banana so he's eating something.

Thanks all.

If he's managed to swallow some of his dinner then that's great.

Allow him to take it slowly without any pressure. The important thing is that he feels he can take it at his own pace & get comfortable with eating again. Don't even encourage him to eat more or praise him for what he's eaten. Just remain neutral. He's not going to starve. He's only a few days out from being ill also so his regular appetite is probably not back yet.
