This is an infected ear isn't it? 7m/old

Hi,

To me, this looks infected? The spots have been here two days. He's just come out of nursery, pulling at his ear and visibly not himself.
My doctors have closed, I will go to the walk in.

I feel so bad for him. Just posting for reassurance and to ask what anyone thinks the spots are?

Yes that looks like an ear infection - might need ABs & lots of cuddles.

He's getting so many cuddles, he's just not himself

Definitely ear infection! You can see the pus lurking inside (I’m an expert after having had two children with chronic ear infections… DS2 on his 8th since last summer aghhh)

He was given antibiotics last night, it looks a lot worse today but he doesn't seem to be in pain, even slept (never does)

It might be infected or it might be "overflow" from another virus. My daughter as a baby used to leak from her ears everytime she had a bad cold and she would often have viral spots too. The spots could be where he's been laying down and his ear is leaking.

Either way he is obviously ill as it's not normal so go to the walk in and see what they say.

The fact he's pulling at his ear suggests he's in pain. The sleeping could be a reaction to the pain (my same daughter used to sleep a lot when she was ill)

Oh sorry should have rtft!

Sleeping a lot is definitely not like him, hasn't slept consecutively more than 5 hours since birth so I was shocked he'd had 8 hours!

No temp, has had many, many colds but he's been in full time nursery since 4 months old so I expected that

He just never seems to have a break
