Hi, my 9 week old baby has silent reflux. Gaviscon did not work, so he was recently prescribed omperazole it’s a tablet form (think they are called mumps)
I dissolved as best as I could in water then gave him via syringe, I managed to get him to swallow fine he almost looked like he was enjoying it.

Within minutes he had vomited it all, there was a lot of vomit so I can’t see any stayed inside him. This has happened 2 days in a row. I gave to him
1hour and half after food and he doesn’t normal vomit as he has silent reflux.

Please can some help on what I should do now? Thanks

Can you ask for the liquid form instead- that way it’s mixed/dissolved properly?
My son had omeprazole. Had to give it first thing in the morning with food/milk.
Maybe speak to the pharmacist about how long after food to give? Tiny tummies digest really quickly and stomach can’t be empty with it.

Thanks so much for responding. Yes I will ask his GP if they could prescribe the liquid instead.

And that’s a good idea about asking the pharmacist. The pharmacist did mention to me not to give him with his bottle as said it will stop it from working as well, did you find the omperazole worked for your little one when giving with a feed?
