Prevacid for 6 week old, how long till results? Other tips! Please help

My 6 week old (born @ 36 weeks so 2 weeks corrected) was just diagnosed with silent reflex/?GERD.

I am so thankful for a quick treatment path - we were prescribed Prevacid yesterday

He is already really small, born at 4lbs and was completely in agony during feeding, refusing to eat and in agony/distress for hours after each meal. Coughing, gagging, screaming, etc.

I exclusively pump (thanks for a bad tongue tie that was cut last week and him being born at 4lbs) and feed my breast milk to him via Tommee Tippee bottle. We eat elevated, stay to for 30-60 post feed (he is crying anyway in pain).

My questions are:

  1. How long did Prevacid take to work for you?
  2. Are there any other tips and tricks that worked for you to provide relief during the post feed screaming match?
  3. How do I know if he has a cmpa (there is no severe vomiting he just has small spit ups - his reflux is silent)

Please send positive encouragement our way - we are sad to see our sweet boy suffer and exhausted.
