My dd has had swollen glands on one side of her neck for about 8 weeks or so she isnt ill.

I did post on chat a few days ago about it but my dh says im being crazy so i wanted to ask here before i look a fool at the gp Grin

I attached a picture although you cant see much ! Its 2 or 3 small lumps on one side only.

The second picture was when i firat noticed one lump but there seem to be three now.

I think i am more worried about it because she has a birth mark on that side of her face - no idea how those would be linked !

My DS had similar, which GP said was enlarged lymph nodes as result of some viral infection. He had't been ill either.

I would make a GP appointment to be sure, hopefully it will be something similar to the above.

I hope lots of people come on here to say your DH is being ridiculous if he doesn't think these things need checking out. Then you can show him the thread. Almost certainly nothing serious, but I'd always have something like that looked at by a GP.

You need this looked at by a GP.
It can be all or nothing but just wanted to say I know of a young boy who had a lump on his neck and turned out to be cancer.
Never ignore lumps always best checked.

It is perfectly normal for children to have slightly enlarged lymph nodes in the neck for fairly long periods following colds, ear infections, tonsillitis, things like that. Because children often have frequent illnesses the glands are quite reactive and are just doing what they do. My son had one that stayed as a pea sized lump for years- he was referred to a specialist about it who checked him over and explained to me how the lymph system works which was very reassuring!

But to add to my post of course you're not being ridiculous, still worth asking the GP to check.

PingedPotato · 20/11/2021 11:13

Could be something could be nothing. The only way you're going to know is to go to the GP.

Ducksurprise · 20/11/2021 11:15

Agree with GP visit. One of mine had this, Sent for bloods and tests. All fine in the end just a response to.viral infection but glad they were checked.

Thanks everyone!
I took her to the gp yesterday who checked her over ears, throat temp etc which was all ok. But he agreed she has a lump and she is booked for some blood tests in a weeks time.
