Does this sound like a chest infection?

Daughter has a really chesty cough, it's particularly bad at night. She's had this one for about a week now. Prior to that the Dr thought she had croup and then had a cough which lasted over a week with that. This cough came a couple of days later. Prior to any cough, she had a cold (just started nursery so picking everything up!). I contacted 111 yesterday as I'd like her to be checked for a chest infection. They said someone would get back to me with an out of hours appointment but they never did. Does this sound like a chest infection from others experience? Is it worth chasing 111 again or just waiting to see our GP tomorrow?

I think kids in particular tend to be quite ill with a chest infection, with a temp and quite listless etc. If she's like that with a chesty cough I'd probably try to get her seen today (good luck).

Me eldest has asthma that often flares up. He had a bad chesty cough for a few days and needed more inhalers. He got to the point of needing so many inhalers I made a go appointment thinking he may need steroids. He did he also had a chest infection and didn't have a temperature. So I would get checked. I had to really push for an appointment despite his asthma history and difficulty breathing and he had to be seen in the car park. So frustrating but antibiotics and steroids had him bouncing back

My ds suffered many a chest infection as a baby and toddler, he was quite poorly, listless and off his food.

Does she have a temp? Has she had a temp at all over the last few weeks? Is she coughing anything up, if so is it clear or white/yellow/green ish

I think a doctor should listen to her chest, check ears and throat etc after being ill for this amount of time, but the likelihood is that it is a couple of back to back viruses.

Trying giving vit d supplements
