Friends dog licked 11month olds mouth

Am I panicking over nothing? My partner seems to think I am. Was round friends earlier and she has a very friendly old large lab. LO got down off my lap and the dog was chewing an old red blood filled bone that stunk like the sewer for a good hour beforehand!!! The smell was revolting even my friend said the smell was making her feel sick. Anyway the dog licked my Little ones mouth while it was open and all over the face I grabbed my LO as fast as I could. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. I’m so worried there could have been dangerous bacteria from the large bone in the dogs mouth and it’s been spread into my LOs mouth. I’m usually very relaxed with germs etc but this has definitely scared me (not just the lick, what it was chewing too)

Your child will be fine. Exposure to lots of germs in childhood is thought to protect against childhood cancer so look on it as a bonus.

They will be fine. The enzymes in the dog's mouth will have killed off a lot of stuff fe the bone. When one of mine was a toddler they found a disgusting old trodden on paper cup on a muddy puddle, picked it up and had a sip of the contents. Kids are disgusting. 8-10 months is the cross over between everything having to be sterilised and literally licking the playground floor. It takes some adjusting to first time round! (And subsequent times...!)
