Opinions on a mark on face that won’t go

Our GP has already seen this mark on DS’s cheek and didn’t particularly comment other than noting it as unusual, but I’m keen to be sure nothing untoward as it’s been there for months and months now.
Does anyone know what it could be? I hope it couldn’t be sun-damage related as DS is outdoors so much . He’s never burnt but we only put suncream on him on very hot days

Ps I could of course ask our gp properly as he noticed it when we were there for another issue but I also hate wasting their time if it doesn’t look an issue

It looks like it's been a sore of some sort, that's possibly been irritating and they keep scratching it so it never heals?

Spider naevus?

TillyDevon · 28/10/2021 01:14

Spider naevus is extremely useful - I looked it up. Thank you so much as that sounds a very likely explanation.
It definitely isn’t irritating in any way and DS can’t understand why I even worry about it!

One of mine had this and it went very bright and then eventually disappeared (after about 5 years). It was a spider naveous.

I've got one on the bridge of my nose, patiently waiting for it to disappear!
