Spiking temperatures, allergies and fits? Anyone else out there like this?

AIBU to think my child is the only one like this.

My 12 year old’s consultant genuinely has told me they are a medical anomaly- basically long words for “I don’t know”

Aged 2 started reacting to viruses and bacterial infections, hives swollen lips, tongue, wheezing and high high temps up to 42 degrees. Prescribed daily anti - histamines with top ups and epi pen. Lots of collapsing has happened.

Allergies increased with age now the list also includes wheat, nuts, uncooked cows milk, animal dander, sun lotion, pollen, neoprene/foam heat.

Whenever ill the illness lasts at least twice as long as peers, misses 25% of lessons when in school due to spiking temps which often won’t resolve so gets sent home up to 4 times in a week.

And now in the last few weeks they appear to have had at least 3 fits/seizures in their sleep.

They are also Autistic.

Genuinely interested is there anyone else out there like this?

Have you asked about genetic testing! His he under a specialist tertiary children's hospital like Southampton, Gosh or Alder Hay?

It sounds like he has more than one condition happening and needs someone or a place that can look at all parts so you get best help for all elements.

Look up Mast Cell issues - mcas or mastocytosis. Mcas is still not well understood but may explain the allergy like responses...
