Baby been asleep for two and a half hours after calpol

My six month old has a tooth coming through and is grumpy and uncomfortable so I gave him calpol. It was the recommended dose for babies this age (and he spat some out anyway!) but I’m just a bit concerned about how long he’s been asleep. Is this normal?

As far as I'm aware, Calpol doesn't have any sedative effects. Most likely, the pain subsided so he's able to sleep well.
If you're at all concerned, contact your pharmacy or GP.

Thanks. Will probably just enjoy the peace - this does happen occasionally when he has not slept well the day before so maybe that is all it is.
