Ds9 severe leg pain and headaches

My DS is 10 next month. For the last 4 weeks or so he has been complaining of sharp shooting pain in his ankles, outer legs and thighs. Sometimes he has a sharp pain in his chest too. These are at all times of the day. He has also been suffering daily headaches.
He has a blood test booked and I'm thinking it could be growing pains/hormones but its come so out of the blue.
He has, since he was 1, been under a growth paediatrician because he is very small for his age which makes me wonder whether it is growing pains at all.
Anyone had experience of similar issues please?

I’ve never known growing pains be shooting pains.
Is he still under the growth paediatrician, can you ring the secretary for advice ?

He could be entering puberty?
Sadly migraine type headaches tend to start at puberty
My ds2 (now 12) has issues with the bones in his ankle/heel as he is growing too fast for the bone plates to keep up
