Potty trained DS accidents related to being unwell?

DS has been potty trained since Easter, he was 4 in February so was late in figuring it out but he finally got there. This week he had suffered badly with what I think is hay fever as his symptoms are similar to mine although more severe. His eyes have swelled and become red and he can't breathe through his nose. He's taken antihistamine liquid and we've bathed his eyes and used a snuffle babies nose spray. Yesterday at nursery he had done a wee in his shorts and couldn't explain why, his teacher also said he had been unusually disruptive at quiet time. Last night he also wet the bed a full bladders worth. He's been dry over night much longer than during day so this has never happened before. Should I put it down to him feeling unwell? Or could I be missing something? Or is it just accidents? Advice welcomed!

I took ds to the Dr after he wet himself a few times after he had been potty trained. The Dr said you should get it checked out if it's out of character.
He'd got an infection, and once it cleared up he was fine again.
