This current pandemic has made me really worried about a different virus, measles, the current yearly death toll could be a lot worse in 10 years time.

These countries have made it clear, it is every persons right to refuse a vaccine for themselves or their child, however that decision comes with restrictions in order to protect those who might be more vulnerable.
In France they passed a law over 3 years ago, for those who did not vaccinate their children, they could not send them to school (publicly funded), I believe it is up to a private school’s discretion if they accept an unvaccinated child or not.
Therefore leaving the parent to home school or find a private tutor.
These restrictions are what are needed worldwide, the anti vaxers are currently a massive danger to the immunocompromised children who are not well enough or strong enough to have the vaccine.
Why immunocompromised children have to be home taught when we have a brilliant vaccine to allow for her immunity.
Measles thank goodness is not as fast spreading as Covid, yet in 2019 140,000 children died from it worldwide. (We have all seen how quickly a virus can spread)
3 years ago there were half a million children in the U.K. (5 years +) un vaccinated. The anti vaxer population is growing and this number will only do the same. The only reason measles doesn’t spread faster is because of the vaccinated population, if that number declines then who knows how many years it will be before we see another deadly virus spreading.
1-3 in 1,000 children contracting measles will develop encephalitis concurrent with the measles infection. 10–15% of those children will die and a further 25% will be left with permanent neurological damage. However 1-2 in a Million children who had vaccination will develop encephalitis from the vaccination which is less than the incidence of all types of encephalitis.

I’m sorry for the long message, I just can’t stay quiet when I see so much ill informed and dangerously false information being spread around which could cause another outbreak of a deadly virus. When we have a perfect vaccine which has been working for many years.
