Anyone had similar? Toddler low grade fever on and off for two weeks

DS was in hospital for a fever and rash about two weeks ago. No bacterial infection found, told it was viral and discharged. All went back to normal after a day or two.

Then a week later he started getting red cheeks and looking hot so I took his temp and he was elevated (we have a colour coded ear thermometer) but not a fever so around 37.7

It went up slightly then came back down by itself. The same happened around the same time (late afternoon) for a couple of days then back to normal for a couple of days.

Yesterday and today it’s gone up to 37.8 briefly before coming back down without medicine.

Hospital said 38 is a fever so I know it’s not technically a fever but it’s warmer than he usually is. He had lots of tests at hospital and all came back okay so I’m wondering if it’s teething.

I’m not normally so handy with the thermometer either but since his hospital stay have been a bit more vigilant incase he’s spiking a fever so whenever he gets the bright red cheeks and feels hot to touch I check.

Anyone had similar?

I’m going to call the GP if it continues incase it’s a new infection but he seems absolutely fine. He’s eating normally, drinking, playing, engaged and alert, running around outside, grumbling and causing his usual chaos, sleeping etc so there’s no sign of him being unwell.

I wondered if it could be a UTI which is why I’m going to call the GP but just wondered if anyone had had the same?

Bless you, must have driven you to distraction both the worry of him being unwell and nobody being able to answer. I'm sorry that I'm not much help either as am coming looking for a similar thing. Hope your son is better now.

I’ve just started another thread asking because Gp said teething but I’ve not heard of it going on this long!

Has your little boy got a similar thing temperature wise? @EarnshawLintonHeathcliff
