Anyone any good with tongue tie?

Can anyone who has experience of a tongue tie - and a posterior one tell me if this is a tongue tie or if this is normal?

I'm waiting for the health visitor to contact me but having such a hard time breast feeding I don't know if this is a tie or not or if this is normal?

Thank you x

Hi,

My son was tongue tied at birth and it seemed like the tip of his tongue was almost connected (if that makes sense at all). Making it difficult for the tongue to move fully.

This doesn’t look like my two kids who had tongue tie at all.
Their tips of the tongue was literally tethered to the bottom of the mouth, not like those pictures at all.

@beckyyl you can get a posterior tongue tie not just one that attaches at the top and that can cause feeding issues too. I've attached a photo of my daughters from last year

@beckyyl here's another angle.

In all honesty you could pay for a private tongue tie assessment with a professional, they will advise if there is an issue and then it's your choice whether to have it snipped. The lady I saw also was an ex midwife and was a lactation consultant so was able to advise on feeding positions
