Is it possible to change the timings of a bowel movement (movicol user)

My 5yo has movicol, but has soiling accidents still. They happen mostly during the afternoon which is inconvenient if we are not at home 24/7.

I hit on the brainwave today of changing the timing of his movicol from the morning to see if we can prompt him to need to go another time in the day (first or last thing)

Anyone know if this is possible?

I would try it at bed time to see if it encouraged a morning BM.

Have you already tried sitting on the toilet for 5 minutes, 20 minutes after meals? Gastro-colic reflex means that a full tummy makes the guts try to push more poo round, so higher odds of successfully going in the toilet.

Hiya thanks for your response. Yes we tried that.

Well... News. We've done evening movicol 2 days in a row.... And no poo accidents 2 days in a row. Not sure that has happened for a few years! And a large poo both mornings.

Too soon to get excited, (but i am a tiny bit)

Fingers crossed that you've got it cracked.
