Son moaning of itchy bum!!

I'm at my wits end!!
For the past two weeks my son has been complaining of an itchy bum.
I have had a look there so many times and literally can't see anything. It doesn't sound like French ones because it doesn't get worse at night time and I definitely can't see anything but to be safe I did go to the pharmacist and I did treat him for threadworms but symptoms have not improved.
I've been putting sudocreme on at the morning and night time but nothing seems to be helping. The thing is I can't see anything wrong with it at all but he keeps saying it's really really itchy. I have contacted my doctors but yet to hear back from them. Has anybody experienced anything similar or have any advice what it could possibly be? Just to add he is 3.

Is he wiping properly? Or is he constipated? My daughter is being anally retentive at the moment and she complains of itching...I think she constantly feels like there's something 'there'.

I still wipe his bum after the toilet so don't think it could be that. He did say to me the other day something is there so maybe that could be it. He is going through a bit of a stage where he seems obsessed with the toilet and can spend an hour sitting on it if I let him x

You can always see them. Treat him for thread worms

AnnaSW1 · 13/04/2021 11:56

*can't

Did you treat the whole family and have you had the follow up dose?

Courtney10891 · 13/04/2021 12:01

No I just treated him because nobody else is the household is showing any symptoms. Also I know threadworms are meant to be worse at night but it doesn't bother him at night at all it's just during the day it seems to come and go. I will treat him and everybody else again for thread worms
