Poo accidents and urine infections

My 8.5 year old has started having poo accidents in her pants and swears she didn't realise she needed to go! Not loads just the odd mess and now she has started to get frequent urine infections definitely linked. Any ideas?

It could be she is very constipated and is impacted. It means there is a big hard lump of poo in the bowel that some liquid managed to get round and often caused accidents. This can also sometimes cause uti 's as the hard poo presses on the bladder and stops it fully emptying. Worth going to the gp and getting them to have a good feel of her tummy to check. If it is the case they can give treatment. The ERIC website is very helpful.

Agree. Almost certainly very constipated. eric.org.uk is great.
