Urine incontinence in 9yr old DD

Over the last month or 2 my 9 year old DD has started leaking urine. The first time she had been to the loo and was on her way downstairs when she leaked. Other times it has happened whilst playing hopscotch at school, leaked whilst sneezing, dancing and it's just happened again tonight.

I'm phoning the GP tomorrow. It all sounds muscular to me. I know they'll want a urine sample to rule out infection (she says there's no burning or irritation.)

I am worried about what further invasive tests may be necessary. I've told DD about clenching exercises, how it sounds like the muscles holding her bladder must be a bit weak, but how on earth can a 9 year old do Kegels and to any effect?

Please can any one advise on what the GP might say?

Is she constipated?
GP will ask for a urine sample to test.

I have had a urine infection without pain or irritation before, it can happen. Hopefully it's just that.

Hello again and thanks for the replies.

Urine test came back clear. Bloods were normal apart from it showed a low white cell count.

I googled 'low white blood count' and I shouldn't have 🙈

Got a telephone appointment to discuss blood results next week and got to repeat bloods in 3 weeks time.
