My 3 year old fell off his scooter today and has a bad cut on his upper lip which crosses the vermilion (border between lip and face). Junior doctor at hospital was too nervous to stitch because of risk of wriggling (understandable) and reluctant to recommend general anaesthetic for something cosmetic so has advised us to go back mid next week to see whether the lip is healing lined up, if not reopening and stitching then. Everything I can find online suggests this sort of cut needs stitches so I’m worried to leave it and get a less good result later. Any experience of this?
