Sudden onset of car sickness

DS is nearly 5 and has always travelled really well, no bother at all, even on quite long journeys, until this summer.

He now gets very travel sick in the car and has vomited on several occasions.

It’s not from reading or using an iPad, and he’s otherwise fit and healthy with no other health problems.

The longest car journey we went on recently was around 2 hours in July. He was fine with that trip, but since then he’s been ill For most of the other journeys we’ve been on, which have all been a lot shorter (30 mins ish, but he’s complained of feeling sick after 5-10 mins before).

Does anyone have any good tips for alleviating his symptoms? He’s started to get a bit afraid of going in the car in case he starts feeling sick and throws up again.
