Around 5 days ago my son started being sick, then he had a cough which led to breathing problems and he went hosp. He has a minor cough now and a runny nose. Since then everyone in my household has had a cough, including myself I feel like death. Do I still need to send him?

Was he tested for Covid in hospital?

Changedmynamelots · 13/09/2020 20:44

Was he COVID tested ? Do you have temps? Are your coughs continuous, ie a coughing episode

Scorpiowoman80 · 13/09/2020 21:19

He wasn’t tested no, and yes mine are

I'd not. Probably best to assume it is covid and isolate for 14 days. Get well soon.

BexR · 13/09/2020 21:21

I would try to get tested too

JaniceBattersby · 13/09/2020 21:23

I’d assume Covid and isolate, but also try to get a test if you can. Mine sometimes vomit when they have a high temperature.

Angel2702 · 13/09/2020 21:24

You all need to isolate and get tested. Until negative test you all need to be in isolation.

Whirlpoolsedge · 13/09/2020 21:26

He needs to be tested for COVID and then isolating

Neolara · 13/09/2020 21:29

I really don't mean to be rude, but I'm genuinely wondering, how can you not know that in these circumstances, your DC and everyone else in your family with covid symptoms needs to have a test and isolate at least until your DC's test comes back negative.

NoSquirrels · 13/09/2020 21:32

I’m surprised he wasn’t tested in hospital.

You all need to isolate. You need to get tested, along with anyone else coughing. After 5 days it’s too late to test your DS, so he’s off school for the next 10 days.

Scorpiowoman80 · 13/09/2020 22:19

My DS was told it was croup that’s why we didn’t assume covid, my cough came after. Non of us have had temps

Home tests for my area have all gone, we don’t drive and I highly doubt anyone will take us?

Then you need to keep trying for a home test every few hours in the website.
And if you can’t get one, you all need to isolate.
Seriously how can you still not know this?

TeenMummy · 13/09/2020 22:42

It's fine if your son has croup but now you e got a new dry cough and haven't been tested for Covid you'll need to self isolate as a family no one goes to school or work until you've been tested. If in the UK they'll send you a home testing kit.
