Son hit ear and now complaining of a funny noise

My nearly 3 year old was stood on the sofa and fell sidewards and hit his ear against the (quite hard) edge of the arm rest. That was about 40 mins ago.

He's in bed now and just asked me what the noise was he could hear in the room. I couldn't hear anything. He then told me it was in his ear. Is this normal after a bump to the ear?

Call 111. Nobody can tell you this is normal.

He meant the noise of the wind in the trees outside, that he could hear in his ears. We realised this after I panicked
