Eczema in teenagers

DS is almost 13. He had eczema as an infant but it cleared up when he was about 5. Over the last month or so it has flared up again. Is this common in teenagers, could it be a hormonal thing? Thanks!

This is happening to my 14 year old too. I assume it's linked to hormone/grrowth changes and will settle down eventually like it did when he was younger . I don't think lockdown has helped. Little fresh air these past few weeks, or exercise and sunshine, too much screen time. Not great for eczema, I wouldn''t have thought.

Yes I wondered if the lack of sunlight might trigger it. It is quite a coincidence.
