Does anyone know what this is on my baby?

This red mark appeared a couple of days ago. Initially I thought it was an insect bite but now I’m not sure. It’s raised and looks lumpy. Doesn’t seem to bother the baby. Any ideas?

It’s on the shoulder area.

That looks like the start of ringworm to me

Ginfordinner · 25/04/2020 18:44

It looks like a haemangioma aka strawberry birthmark. DD developed one at 3 weeks. The eventually fade and flatten.

Thank you @MummyGoingItAlone Smile

@Ginfordinner baby is 10 months, would it appear that late on?

It looks like impetigo to me but its very small.

tipon · 25/04/2020 18:47

Ringworm

Wwyd20 · 25/04/2020 18:48

@Dish from my experience of impetigo it would have spread further and crusted by now. I think ringworm makes the most sense although I’m not sure where it would have come from as we don’t have pets.

@tipon thank you

My baby's impetigo started like that. Only went yellow and crusty later.

Dicebeehive · 25/04/2020 18:54

Oh sorry you said it had already been a couple of days. Yes, my baby's had gone yellow/crusty within a couple of days.

Wwyd20 · 25/04/2020 18:54

@Dicebeehive how many days after did it go crusty? And did it spread quickly? This is day 3 and no other marks.

Ah x post, thanks @Dicebeehive

My daughter has a similar patch on her cheek, for her it's excema.

Queenfreak · 25/04/2020 21:22

I'd say that is ringworm

Wwyd20 · 25/04/2020 23:54

Thank you Smile

Looks like ringworm to me too

rebeccaelle · 27/04/2020 23:05

Looks like eczema to me. My son has had it since he was about 4/5 months old 😫 he will always get random patches like this if he's had too much cows milk in his food.
I even took him to the dr as I thought some of them looked like ringworm as they were so perfectly round! It was eczema 🤦🏻‍♀️ does it feel dry?

Mummoomoocow · 27/04/2020 23:09

It could be a reaction to the TB jab if she had one at birth. Regardless call your GP or health visitor in the morning

Callimanco · 27/04/2020 23:14

Could be sebhorreic eczema. You get plaques like that. My kids developed it at a similar age.
