Is my baby allergic or having a bad reaction to omeprazole?

My DD is 18 weeks old. Diagnosed at 3 weeks old with CMPA and reflux. So we went on Nutramigen and carobel, worked a treat until she was 12 weeks old. She started to refused bottles and cried a lot so doc said it’s silent reflux and prescribed omeprazole. Since we started her on carobel she barely vomits but now since starting omeprazole she vomits 5+ times a day. More often than not it’s hours after a feed. Could she be having a reaction to it.... GP was not very helpful and just told me to stop it and there’s nothing more we can do until she grows out of it 😐

If nutramigen (a hydrolysed formula) helped, but didn't fix things, may be worth trying something like neocate (an amino acid based formula), as it's more hypoallergenic.

But yes, if omeprazole isn't suiting her you're running out of actual medicines to try, as the only other anti acid you can use in that age group is rantidine, and that is having horrendous supply issues at present.

What else could be in the milk that’s potentially annoying her?

Still the cows milk protein. But in hydrolysed milk the cows milk protein is just chopped up into smaller pieces, so if they're very sensitive they can still be intolerant of it. In amino acid based milk the cows milk protein is broken down all the way to the basic building blocks, so even the most sensitive guts aren't intolerant to it.
