Need to talk about your child’s speech, language and/or communication skills?

I hope this is the right place to post this - if not I’m sure someone will delete!

I am a professional, UK (HCPC) registered speech and language therapist offering free telephone consultations for worried parents who can’t access speech and language therapy services during the COVID 19 crisis.

Maybe your child was on a waiting list for an assessment that isn’t the NHS’ priority right now? Perhaps homeschooling has raised concerns you could not have noticed before? Maybe family members or teachers have suggested you take your child to a therapist but you’re not quite sure if it’s necessary?

I took a short career break and am currently in Canada. It’s not safe for me to travel home at the moment but would like to offer support in any way that I can. To be completely honest I’m bored and missing my work!

I have experience in mainstream and special schools and clinics for children aged 2-19 across the full range from late talkers to severe special needs.

PLEASE NOTE I cannot provide a full assessment or substitute therapy as I will be limiting calls to a maximum of 30 minutes per parent/carer. However I might be able to offer some guidance on things to do at home to support your child’s speech, language and communication development, point you in the right direction or maybe even just put your mind at rest.

Email me at [email protected] to arrange a date and time for a call back. If possible, please include a description of your concerns.
