She’s quite upset, it has gone obviously red and a bit rash like...

We have had the cold shower on it and now cold compress and she’s currently calmed down with her iPad.

I’m also on hold to 111 and have been for whole but not holding up much hope and obviously don’t want to just take her along to the Dr...

Just looking for advice really...

I would say take her to a and e to have it assessed, especially if she is very young.

I would be more inclined to phone your GP for advice, at the moment....

How big is the red area? And has it blistered?

Purplewithred · 24/03/2020 13:07

How old is she? Is there any blistering, and how big is the scald (compared to her hand including fingers). Needs 20 mins + cooling by the way.

Homeschool101 · 24/03/2020 13:12

Depends on the age.
And the burn.
My baby had hot liquid tipped on him once and the skin came away immediately and was a very obvious blister. We went to a&e
I've spilled very hot stuff on me and it's just been a cold water and keep an eye on it situation 🤷🏽‍♀️

She’s 8...

It’s blistered a little bit, it’s quite a large area, typically she had a crop top on!! Wephoned Dr’s (thanks for advice) and now on way to our local triage centre, feel so awful!!

We were having a tea party in the garden and she wanted to help, was in the kitchen with her but just took my eye off her for a minute! 😭

Put aloe gel on the skin - it will help.

Oakmaiden · 24/03/2020 16:28

Hope she is ok xxx

Poor little love. Try not to feel so bad. I'd recommend some Calpol as burns can really hurt after the adrenaline wears off. You've done all the right things. At 8, she will heal nice and quickly and it sounds like very minimal scarring.
