Any GP’s on here? 1 year old ear infection and flying

Hello!

LO diagnosed with ear infection last night at OOH doctors. Doctor said both ears red inside. Antibiotics given. We are currently away at family in Ireland and were meant to fly back this AM.

Doctor said not to fly for a week.

Is this right? TIA

Would you really take the advice of a GP who hasn't seen your child over a GP that actually has? I'm quite relaxed about health matters but that seems a bit odd.

You could try getting a second opinion in the flesh though, a week does seem quite long.

Can't it cause a burst eardrum? I think it would be very painful for the child. Perhaps wait a few days and go back to see if infection is clearing up?

Ouch no, you don’t want to fly.
