Fever chills in 10 month old

My baby is not well and I'm trying to stay positive.
He's had a fever since Monday which does come down with meds most of the time.
We spent most of today in the children's hospital as he suddenly started shaking and breathing so fast this morning that I panicked. We went the walk in centre and got sent to children's a&e.
They did the basic checking of ear, nose, throat etc. Said they didn't think it was a febrile seizure, most probably rigors - and that it's likely viral and sent us home.
Now what happened this morning was truly terrifying so I'm just trying to convince myself they're right and he'll be ok soon.
He's currently in bed with me and just had another shaking episode like the chills, but not as bad as earlier. He's asleep and so hot but his little body is all goose bumpy where he obviously feels cold.

Since tomorrow is day 5 of his fever I'm hoping it can't be much longer. We were told to go see gp if fever lasts another 4 days from now- which seems ages.

Any tips of helping with the chills? I've covered him with a little blanket as his legs are cold, but his chest feels red hot to touch.

I'm rambling. Trying to keep myself distracted as I certainly can't sleep ☹️

Have you tried ibuprofen as well as calpol? We alternate when my DS has a fever and ibuprofen is much more effective at lowering his temperature.
Sorry your little one is poorly. I hope you get an improvement soon
