DS is 9 months old. He’s had a chesty cough and cold which started last weekend, today is the eighth day. His temperature is fine, he’s a bit grumpy at times but ok in himself other than that, just still incredibly snotty and coughing all the time. He is gagging a lot as well due to the mucus in his throat. He was previously drinking around 23oz of milk a day and 3 meals a day of mashed up food and a few nibbles on finger foods. For over a week now he’s only been having 10-15oz of milk a day and eating nothing other than yogurt and puréed fruit (offered him a variety of things but it’s refused). He definitely isn’t dehydrated fortunately because he’s sipping a lot of water. Is this normal? Sorry if it’s a daft question, he’s my first and I worry about everything. He’s had a couple of mild colds before but not to this extent and he’s never had a reduced appetite for so long. I feel like he’s losing weight as his bottoms are baggier on him today. How long is this likely to go on for?! He is still sleeping through the night most nights so he isn’t waking through hunger, it’s like he simply isn’t hungry but I thought he’d be ravenous by now. He is also teething, his top gums are swollen and it looks like his two front teeth are on their way but they’ve been swollen for two weeks now yet still haven’t broken through the gum.

My 6 month DD has just got over a chest infection and refused solids for 10 days (been weaned since 4 months old) and only had between 10-12oz of milk for this 10 days (normally around 24oz)
Once she got better her appetite increased back to normal within 2 days. Try not to worry.
