High fever and cerebral palsy

Hi, my 15 year old son has mild cerebral palsy and has been sent home form school today unwell. He has a slight fever, 38.1, and I've just stupidly googled it ( was actually googling for my husband who is also in bed with a fever at 38.7!) and it said to ring doctor straight away if there's a high fever with a neuro condition. I've never known this and I'm panicking now! He's ok, not delirious just tired and not feeling great. I tried to call my doc just to ask the receptionist but there closed now. Am I being paranoid??
Thank you!

I wouldn't call 38.1 a high fever. I'd call it a low grade fever.

Yeah I agree, I'd call over 39 a high fever. Just thinking ahead in case I need to!

My son has moderate cerebral palsy and I have never called a Dr when he has had a high temperature. If he gets other symptoms as well then call but chances are it is just a virus.

Thank you, I thought I was being over dramatic, I've never heard of it being dangerous before and panicked when I read it!
