Dry patches of skin on sons face spreading

10 year old developed red dry skin near his mouth a couple of weeks ago. He's had this before and we moisturised it and it went away. This time, it seems to be spreading. He's now got about 5/6 patches of red, rough skin on his face - below and above his lip, by the side of his nose on both sides, on his cheeks. His forehead is fine and nice and soft still but he has a fringe so I'm thinking if it could be as simple as dry skin caused by the weather and his forehead is protected by his hair?

I've googled ringworm and eczema and it doesn't seem to look like either of those. It is starting to look pretty sore and I'm worried that it's spreading. Anyone had anything like this before? Or can suggest a good mosturizer to use?

For me if I use shampoo this happens so I must be sensitive to it. Also find mixa cream from amazon is great it has moisturiser and a nappy cream in it so u could try sudocream at night and a plain moisturiser in the morning? Hope that helps
