Advice re managing pityriasis rosea /Christmas tree rash in DD

My 10yr old DD has pityriasis rosea / Christmas tree rash (nothing to do with bloody Christmas trees other than presentation) and it's driving her mad. I can last 12 weeks or long and she has had it almost three. Spots are everywhere and so itchy. They are beginning to hurt now. She is using aqueous calamine and taking cetirizine as told by the nurse but it is getting worse and unbearable for her. Does anyone have any other ideas?

NHS suggests poss steroids but GP has no appts before 2nd Jan so short of another am emergency appt then nothing else I can do. I can try that but not so easy to get in and obviously Monday is first day they will be open. Not sure this warrants out of hours tbh.

Any tips welcomed. It's just lasting ages and could last for so much longer. So miserable as under her arms and now painful. Thanks for any help Flowers.
